A bit of introduction
Part of my job is testing and keeping current our livestreaming software. We use Wirecast as our preferred option. To that end, I’ve been doing weekly tests of the software. This week, since I’m currently sheltering in place due to 2020 Spring COVID-19 mitigation efforts, and since I’ve fallen woefully behind on my BonusParts A to Z project, I thought I’d combine the two efforts into one. So, here is my BonusParts A to Z post for the letter “D” – in video form!
D is for … Diversity
Would you like to hear and see more?
If you enjoyed the video, and you’d like to see me make more of them using this format, let me know in the comments! I’ve got to do the testing anyway….
I hope you’re all staying safe, healthy, and sane, wherever (and whenever) you read this. <3
Yay, I’m ad to see this series come back around!
Diversity is certainly something I probably lack in my work, but it’s hard to say if I ‘struggle’ with it. Could be that I’m just blind to it.
I’ve ways tended to follow they ‘write what you know’ train, especially in the beginning. There’s been some growth as I read more and get more experimental, but it may be that my writing will always be contained in one orbit. That one I’ll have to think about.
Looking forward to seeing more Wireless Wednesdays!
Diversity is a complicated topic. I want to write the story as I see it in my head. My characters are real people, to me, and they embody different types across the board. Do they do that enough? I don’t know. Probably not. But creating a character who is different simply for the sake of being so doesn’t feel right to me, either.
