In December 2017, I started writing the story of Number Seven, my burly bodyguard with a tender spot in his heart for his ward. In January 2019, I published his story, as the thriller novella “Number Seven and the Life Left Behind.” I’d never written a thriller before, but I liked the way that it turned out. The story went through several edits over the course of 2018 before I was happy enough to set it free for anyone to read. You can read more of how the story came to be following these posts.
