This is an online archive of old fan fiction stories,
that I wrote several years ago. Each link will take
you to the complete story (or as complete as it ever
got) in a new window, and in a bare-bones, text-only
format. (What
is "fan fiction?")
These stories are presented here as they
originally appeared on my old website and at Fanfiction.Net;
I haven't updated the text of the stories in any way...as
much as I may have wanted to. I've stopped writing
fanfic for the most part, but if you're interested
in a particular story, I'm always happy to hear from
you (bonusparts[at]gmail.com).
If you are looking for my fan
fiction entries for National Novel Writing Month,
please go to my NaNoWriMo page.
Please do not copy or reproduce any part of these
stories in any way.
Are you looking for the more ... *ahem* ... adult
stuff? Then go to the BonusParts
KINK site!

Hanamura Yousuke and the girl of his consideration.
1000-word vignettes.
The Japanese characters used for Chie's name can translate to "1,000 Words" - which I thought was an interesting and fun springboard for a series of vignettes. The first chapter I wrote in about an hour, and so I guess it should be considered a draft, of sorts.
It takes some doing to get each of these to 1000 words exactly, but I rather enjoy this as an exercise in albeit angsty brevity and perspective.
The successive chapters bounce around a bit in time, but it's more about the exercise of writing from a guy's perspective than it is about presenting ideas in chronological order, or retelling the game.
Readers of my novel-in-progress "1 More Chance!" (found in the BonusParts KINK section) will likely recognize a few details, but this series is meant to take place (mostly) during game events. It doesn't necessarily follow the timeline that I've presented in "1 More Chance!" ... but it doesn't necessarily not, either.

To quote Wakka: "Go, blitzball, go!" The Al
Bhed Psyches have lives outside of the blitzball arena. ...Don't
they?
This story was written in 2002, shortly after I had played
through the first several hours of Final Fantasy X, the second
time around. The Psyches have always been my favorite Blitzball
team, despite my affection for loveable Wakka. There's just
something about those mysterious goggles they all wear, and
their cool outfits. Here's my take on them. |

Quistis Trepe, the instructor-turned-SeeD, is feeling
left out of all of the romance...until a handsome new instructor
comes to Garden. In the meantime, Zell and the other SeeDs
just want to make Quistis happy.
This story was written in 1999, shortly after I finished
Final Fantasy VIII for the third time. It took about a year
to finish, and it is one of the stories for which I consistently
received praise at FanFiction.Net, so I'm proud of it for
that, for whatever that is worth. |
Celebrating You (6K)
Source: Resident Evil |
A man waits for his favorite girl on Thanksgiving. Quite short, one-shot.
Posted in response to a holiday-theme challenge, at the old Resident Evil Writers Yahoo! Group...back when it still existed. I had quite a few good times online with that crew, trading stories and story ideas and just shooting the bull about my favorite game franchise at the time.
The main character is not really meant to be a mystery, but I just liked the way that it turned out that way in the end. |

Sherry has her eye on Leon, and she'll do anything to
keep him. But what happens when Claire enters the picture?
My first Resident Evil story, written between 1999 and 2001,
when it was finally finished. I don't usually write in first-person,
but it seemed warranted for this story of unrequited love
on the part of a little girl.
The story takes place a few years after the end of Resident
Evil Code: Veronica (since I hadn't played RE4 at the time
of writing this); Sherry is approximately 15. It follows a
timeline of my own making, one that doesn't necessarily match
that of the game.
First story in my arc called "The Survivors." |

Me Most (179K)

Romantic twists and troublesome trysts make for a wacky
weekend in the woods.
Written between 2000 and 2001, this is one of those long,
rambling pieces. I tried to touch on each character individually.
I don't know how successful I was, but it was definitely a
learning process for me.
The story was inspired by a song by Pizzicato Five ("Baby
Love Child").
Takes place one year after the events of "Thank
Heaven for Little Girls" and is story 3 of "The
Survivors" story arc. |

Elise Riggs has a heart-to-heart with fellow boarder Nate
Logan.
My Christmas story for 2003. I'm not overly pleased with
this one, as it feels rushed and not-quite-finished somehow.
But it was a case of deadlines coming down the pipe and my
wanting to finish a holiday story, for once.
Originally, this story was going to be about Griff and his
father, and Elise and Nate weren't going to figure at all.
But as soon as I started writing, the characters just led
me along to this particular conclusion. I hope you enjoy it. |

by Mark 'Manix' Odell. |
